The TIANZHU- CISDI Joint Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing has now been launched.

Based at Tianzhu Steel, it creates a smart, lean production benchmark for China.

All production lines at Tianzhu are used for the research and application of intelligent manufacturing and implementation of lean production methodology.

Tianzhu’s 24-year production and management expertise will be combined with CISDI’s information tech, so that potential for creating greater values and benefits can be found.

The Institute’s role is to make breakthroughs in organisation, mechanism and mode:

The innovative organisation enables greater connection between production, management and digital tech;

The mechanism features a basic platform plus benefit-creating projects, which enable digital solutions to create values;

The mode synergises the strengths of TIANZHU, universities and the research institute in the search of a new paradigm for improving intelligent manufacturing implementations.

Tianzhu chair Shuchuan Wang has been a firm believer in the institute’s power to create further integration of business, management and digital tech, “The construction of a smart factory and a digital innovation and benefit-creating system will become a new engine for enhancing international competitiveness and specialist impact,” he commented.

CISDI’s CEO Peng Xiao explained the Institute’s significance. “Tianzhu and CISDI have the same ideals when it comes to intelligent manufacturing,” he said. “The Institute will be an important breeding ground for re-collecting sectoral resources, developing professionals and innovating tech. It is a milestone for intelligent steel manufacturing in China.”

At the unveiling ceremony, Mukui Yu, assistant president of CISDI Information Tech Co, announced the first subjects to be studied.
