Maanshan Steel’s industrial tourist attraction has been unveiled at the company’s intelligent park in China’s Anhui Province.

In 2020, CISDI master-planned far-reaching environmental improvements at the Masteel plant to create the steel-themed scenic park.

The site has become an urban tourism destination. An exhibition hall showcases the history and culture of steel development, a steel Exploration Park to showcase the link between steel plant and city, and a tourist route has been created by reusing and modifying old buildings and workshops.

CISDI carried out multiple EPC-based projects to transform and landscape the site.

Following eco-first, green development philosophies, CISDI kept Masteel’s base colour unchanged and put forward plans for a shared service centre serving multiple departments, cultural and ecological parks.

The intelligent, green Masteel Park is already open to the public. The whole plant has a 33.8 per cent greening ratio and the company will continue its endeavours to synergise production and the ecosystem.

A tourist route has been created by reusing and modifying old buildings and workshops. The plant’s integrated intelligent park and its exhibition hall and shared service centre have become an urban tourism destination.

The Exploration Park was built by CISDI from two existing parks and three buildings.

800,000 square metres of land has been saved by CISDI’s utilisation plans. Walls were broken to create landscaping and a number of old buildings were removed to give a greener environment.

The park’s focus is special steels development and features have been created from the rounded shapes of special steels products. Spaces were formed from linking rings to symbolise the link between steel plant and city.

The original main gate of the steel plant was simplified and five new parking lots were created, making it easier for staff to travel to the plant by commuter bus. A super-efficient logistics network has been established, featuring four vertical and four horizontal roadways in the south and six circular roadways in the north.
